Audi sold over 1 million cars this year

The German based automaker Audi has recently announced that it managed to sell over 1 million vehicles this year, but even if the number seems to be quite high, the company is still 11.000 units below the sales record of 2010.
According to the German based automaker, the company has sold 1.081.700 units in the first ten month of this year, compared to the same period of 2010, when Audi has found new owners for 1.092.411 units of its models.
Even if the sales figures compared to the January – October period of 2010 isn’t so bright for Audi, the German based automaker’s sales were up 18.1 percent throughout October and China has played a big role, as it usually does, in selling the company’s models.
Audi says that its sales on the Chinese auto market have increased by 61.7 percent to a total of 27.729 units, making the country the second best-selling market of the company in October, surpassing the US market’s 10.225 deliveries (up 25.8 percent), but still “wanting” to beat the European market with its 58.500 new vehicles sold last month (up 9.8 percent compared to October 2010).
The German based automaker said that the European sales have been boosted by a strong demand for the new Q3 compact crossover.
