Rides : Kia Soul Gets a facelift

Kia has presented to the public the Soul facelift during this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, after teasing it more than a month. The South Korean automaker is once again in the automotive media’s attention after some images reveal minor aesthetic modifications to the frontal side, and that’s not the only thing that the “new” Soul packs.

The images were published by the AutoExpress British magazine and reveal, as it was expected, the front grille borrowed from the bigger brothers, the Picanto and Rio, along with LED daytime running lights placed under the front lights, and some modifications to the front and rear bumpers.
Kia says that the facelift is offering 15 mm more space than the previous version and even if that doesn’t sound too much, the Korean engineers have taken advantage of it. Customers of the new Soul will get automatic climate control as an option, while the manual remains standard.
Under the hood, the Soul facelift gets a 1.6 liter petrol engine which is delivering 140 horsepower and 122 lb-ft of torque at 4.850 rpm, while the 1.6 liter CRDi diesel will be available as an option, with its 128 horsepower, that can improve 0 to 62 mph acceleration time and cut down CO2 emissions from 137 to 130 g/km.
With its prices currently unknown and the announcement that the Soul will hit the UK dealerships in October, Kia is keeping its future customers waiting a little more.
