Bentley is not sitting around and doing nothing and after the luxury automaker has released the facelifted version of the GTC, it decided that the GT needs a new brother which will be named the GT2 and it’s expected to hit the showrooms next year.
“I definitely think there is room for a car with more power than the Supersport. I also think some of what we did with the Supersport in the past wasn’t quite right. For example, it should not be a two-seater. That layout should be reserved for the top-line cars”, said Bentley’s new boss, Wolfgang Durheimer.Rumors are that the Continental GT2 will be a Supersport on steroids and the model could weigh about 2.200 kg and feature a 650 horsepower engine, but it remains unclear if Bentley will use the twin-turbo V8 or the W12. The GT2 is expected to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than four seconds while its top speed will exceed 200 mph or 322 km/h.
