**1/2 (2010)
The first of three short films in the "Deadtime Stories Volume 2" anthology. This one is about 3 hikers, two of whom are engaged, who decide to go cave exploring without telling anybody. There's a collapse, one of the two is injured, and well, let's just say this is a gory version of Alive.
It's not bad. Short films can be bad when they feel like they're obviously trying to hurry the story along too much. Like here, the get trapped, then one minute later, you see the caption "13 days later". Wait! What happened over the first thirteen days? Then one minute later, you see the caption, "27 days later". There could have been a lot of dramatic tension about the need to survive as in 127 hours or Alive. Instead, it felt like they were pretty close to writing "Okay, they've been in the cave a month and now decide to eat the guy who was injured". But of course, they'll be rescued the next day.
There was some great gore in their scenes of cannibalism. But, instead of renting it, just enjoy the picture above, and how clean they utilized almost every part of the body!
