Breaking News: One More Chauncey!
The New York Knicks have decided to bring Chauncey Billups back next season, as they've picked up his $14.2 Million option for 2011-2012. Prick Cabin isn't too surprised at this course of action, and I happen to think this is a smart idea to hold on to the veteran point guard with championship pedigree. Sure Billups is aging, but next year he'll be a large expiring contract, and nobody else of his caliber is available this upcoming offseason. Let's also not forget that there might not even be any NBA at all in 2011-2012, due to the looming lockout. The Knicks had until Friday to pick up Billups's option, or they were going to buy him out for $4 million.
