Rides : Check Out The Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels Concept

Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels Concept

If you played with Hot Wheels as a kid (or as an adult, as some on the Autoblog team have admitted to doing), then you've probably imagined what it would be like to have the thing in full size. Chevrolet has tried to make that a reality, creating a Camaro concept car inspired by the "Custom Camaro" 1/64-scale model that was part of the original Hot Wheels collection released in 1968.

Making its debut at SEMA today, the Camaro Hot Wheels Concept features chrome green paint, ghosted Hot Wheels logos on the fenders, satin black wheels, a Euro-style rear fascia and taillights and black aluminum hood insert with milled heat extractors. Under the hood is the standard LS3 V8.

Rides : 2011 SEMA’s Hottest Car is the Camaro

2011 SEMA’s Hottest Car is the Camaro

The automotive giant General Motors has managed to “catch” the award for the Hottest Car at the 2011 SEMA Motor Show for the second consecutive year with its popular Chevrolet Camaro, which was presented at the Las Vegas event in six different “shapes”: the COPO Camaro, the Camaro Hot Wheels, the Camaro Red Zone, the Camaro Synergy Series Concept, the Camaro 1LE Concept and the Camaro ZL1 Carbon Concept.
“After more than two years on the market, Camaro continues to inspire creativity and Chevrolet is thrilled to see that expressed in all the wonderfully personalized examples here at the SEMA Show. Camaro has always been a car customers love to personalize and we are doing all we can to support them and the aftermarket industry with parts and accessories that help turn their dreams into reality”, said the vice president of Global Chevrolet Marketing and Strategy, Chris Perry.
The “Hottest Car Award” of the SEMA Motor Show was first handed out in 2010 so the Chevrolet Camaro is actually the only vehicle to receive the award. The SEMA award is recognizing the most accessory-friendly car based on the volume of aftermarket parts exhibited at the annual showcase of automotive performance and personalization.

Chevrolet Camaro Concepts going to SEMA

The American based automotive giant couldn’t say no to the SEMA Motor Show, which will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, between November 1 and 4, 2011, and has announced that three Chevrolet Camaro Concepts will be “attending” the event.
According to the North American automaker, the Chevrolet Camaro Concept Red Zone is based on the convertible version and it’s inspired by models from the past. The Concept Red Zone is offering the new Crystal Claret colored stripes along with large 21 x 8.5 alloy wheels. For the Red Zone Camaro, there are also available more “goodies” like the lowered suspension, leather interior trim, Titanium for the door panels and dashboard, new identification badges, aerodynamic body kit and grille, Brembo brakes, Hurst shift lever and sports pedals.
The second Camaro Concept which will hit the next week’s SEMA Motor Show will be the 1LE which combines sporty versions inspired by the SS and the ZL1, like the Victory Red paint, the sports suspension with Magnetic Ride Control, electric power steering, manual transmission with short-shift, new alloy wheels in size 10 x 20 for the front and 11 x 20 for the rear wrapped in Goodyear F1 Supercar lightened G tires, Brembo brakes, sports exhaust valves from the ZL1 with internal and rear diffuser, black interior trim with Stone and Light Graphite interior stitching and ZL1 sports pedals and gear.
A Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Concept Carbon will also make its way to the SEMA Motor Show, coming with a series of carbon fiber accessories for both inside and outside, along with Ashen Gray hue, Brembo brake system, Spatial Magneti Ride Control, dual sports exhaust, leather interior and sports pedals.

Rides : Hennessey 20th Anniversary Camaro

Hennessey unveiled the 20th Anniversary Camaro

The American based tuner Hennessey has just unveiled a very special edition of the HPE650 Camaro, in order to celebrate their 20th anniversary, where the iconic muscle car will be available in just 20 units, in both coupe and convertible versions.
Remember the “teasing” of the 20th Anniversary Camaro? Well the Texas tuner John Hennessey finally decided to unveil it and it’s exactly the same as the aftermarket specialist said: black paint with black leather interior and some impressive performance.
The 20th Anniversary Camaro signed by John Hennessey is powered by the 6.2 liter V8 engine which is delivering 655 horsepower at 6.300 rpm, mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds, with the quarter-mile being accomplished in 11.7 seconds at 122 mph.
You can find more details of the limited edition 20th Anniversary Camaro made by John Hennessey here and you can also watch the photo gallery after the jump. Enjoy!

Rides : Chevy Camaro ZL1 Delivers 580 Horsepower

Chevy Camaro ZL1 Delivers 580 Horsepower

The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1’s supercharged 6.2L engine is SAE-rated at 580 horsepower (432 kW) and 556 lb.-ft. of torque (754 Nm) – making it the most-powerful production Camaro ever.
“For sheer power,” says Al Oppenheiser, Camaro chief engineer, “the ZL1 delivers more horsepower than a Ferrari 458, more torque than an Aston Martin DR9 V12 and a better power-to-weight ratio [7.24 pounds per hp] than a Porsche 911 Carrera GTS.”
The extra power from the LSA used in the 2012 ZL1 comes from GM adding a high flow air filter system with dual inlet paths and improved airflow through the supercharger housing, all allowing the ZL1 LSA to breathe more easily.
That puts the much-anticipated muscle car, due for its official production-car unveiling at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show in November, slightly ahead of the announced 570 horsepower for the 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 that arrives next year.
Besides the supercharged V8 and the uprated transmission, the ZL1 also sports a series of chassis upgrades including a revised suspension with a Magnetic Ride Control system and a high-performance Brembo brake system with six-piston calipers up front and four at the back.
Chevy officials are also clearly proud of the ZL1’s “track-capable standard equipment,” including engine oil, transmission and differential coolers, as well as a high-performance fuel system with additional pickups for continuous high-g corners during low-fuel conditions.
All told, between tech and the power, the ZL1 beats the current top of the muscle car heap, the 550hp Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, in just about every category. But that might not be the case come next year.
