The DaimlerChrysler automotive giant is working on a replacement for the Dodge Viper and the new American supercar will be revealed in November in Miami, during a charity event “Rides and Smiles”, before it will be officially presented during the 2012 Detroit Motor Show in January.
It seems that the American based automaker has done some serious research for their new Viper generation, after going to Porsche owners and other high-end supercar owners to ask them what is wrong with the Viper and why don’t they like it, so me might see some significant improves for the new model.
Sadly there’s no word about the engine or performance of the new Dodge Viper and since we are living in “eco” times we really hope DaimlerChrysler doesn’t fit it with an electric motor or a hybrid system.
The Dodge Viper was originally introduced back in 1991 and it was actually one of the first V10 powered cars in the world. The vehicle was being assembled at New Mack Assembly.
The fourth generation of the Dodge Viper, the Phase II SRT-10, is powered by an 8.4 liter V10 engine which is developing 600 horsepower at 6.000 rom and 760 Nm of torque (560 lb-ft) at 5.600 rpm, mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
