Talks between Mercedes-Benz and Aston Martin collapse
Due to money issues, the rumored partnership between Aston Martin and Maybach is not happening, according to sources. A few months ago, it was reported that these two luxury brands would be sharing platforms and technology. If this agreement had pushed through, Aston Martin would have produced the next generation models of the Maybach 57 and 62 and it could have had access to Mercedes-Benz‘s hybrid technology and the 4.6-liter twin-turbo V8 as well as platforms for the 2012 M-Class and 2013 S-class.
Sources said that Aston Martin had demanded a very big amount of money to produce cars for Maybach, which is owned by Mercedes-Benz.
So far, no official announcements have been made but it’s believed that this could mean the end for Maybach.
